Congratulations Jane M. Martin you're the featured Infinity author of the week!
Jane M. Martin is a licensed respiratory therapist with over thirty years experience. In addition to her work in respiratory care, Jane is an author and the founder and director of BreathingBetterLivingWell.com, a website providing information about chronic lung disease, as well as stories, articles, and an active forum to share experiences in a positive and accepting community.
In her work in pulmonary rehabilitation and breathing support groups Jane was inspired by her patients, but concerned for others with little or no information and support living in isolation and despair. In an effort to bring patients together to help each other, she wrote Breathe Better, Live in Wellness: Winning Your Battle Over Shortness of Breath, sharing stories of everyday people with extraordinary and inspiring wisdom, humor, and courage, not only surviving but thriving in spite of chronic lung disease. Her latest book, Live Your Life with COPD - 52 Weeks of Health, Happiness and Hope combines the voice of successful COPD patient, Jo-Von Tucker with Jane's teachings as a respiratory therapist.
Originally from the Chicago area, Jane has a bachelor's degree in Education and Language Arts from Hope College. She studied respiratory therapy through the California College for Health Sciences in San Diego, California. She is a member of the Michigan Society for Respiratory Care, the American Association for Respiratory Care, the Asthma Network of West Michigan, and serves on the editorial boards of The COPD Digest and Alpha-1 to One.

Check out some of the incredible book reviews she's recieved:
I wish I had known about Jane Martin’s book when I was initially diagnosed with COPD some 10 years ago. I knew nothing about COPD, only that all of a sudden I was being put on nocturnal oxygen, and oxygen for exertion, and meds that I’d never heard of before. I was scared. I had no idea of how I was going to deal with everything. The book is grouped into sections dealing with various chronic lung diseases, and each chapter within a section is a story of an individual patient’s life – how they live with and deal with their lung disease. As a COPD patient who also has asthma, I gravitated to those two sections first, but then continued to read the sections on Alpha-1, Interstitial Lung Disease and Pulmonary Fibrosis because I wanted to meet the patients who were sharing their stories and how they cope with their chronic lung disease. The entire book is filled with inspiring life stories from patients who have decided to live the best life possible, in spite of chronic lung disease. I thank them for sharing their stories with Jane!! I recommend this book for all patients with chronic lung disease and their caregivers and family members. - Karen Deitemeyer
Jane wrote her book as though she was coming over to relay some information on mutual friends. The stories were immediately relevant to my COPD life and those I know from our support group. The intermixing of related definitions and resource links really helped the flow of reading making it hard to put the book down as you wanted to learn more and more with each passing page and story. It's an excellent testament that COPD is not an imediate death sentence but just a change of pace in one's life style and that a positive attitude is a very good medicine. -Howard Ober
I first received a copy of Breathe Better, Live in Wellness at the COPD Coalition Conference in 2003. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it and started to read stories from various individuals that suffered from many different forms of lung disease. I was amazed at how positive their stories were and how they managed to deal with it from day to day. Being a sufferer of COPD myself, it was very uplifting to read about others with their own words. This book would be a perfect book for any lung disease support group. Jane's book is well written and is a must read for anyone with lung disease. -Pat Crowe
