Ever heard of guerilla marketing? The concept of guerrilla marketing was invented as an unconventional system of promotions that relies on time, energy and imagination rather than a big marketing budget. This week we'll give you tips on how to take your book marketing to the paperback books 871147 mnext level with these fun ideas!

Hit electronic stores. Visit Barnes & Noble, Apple or Best Buy and pull up your newest title or author website on their e-readers and iPads, leave them up and walk out of the store! The next person into the store will see your book and might just remember it or read the synopsis and be intrigued and buy a copy for himself or herself or a friend.

Leave your mark. Local stores are open to you leaving your business cards or flyers for upcoming book signings or speaking engagements. You just have to ask! Get your name out there in a subtle way with an eye-catching visual that represents your book brand.

Join the exchange. Book swaps are becoming more and more prevalent, especially in local shops. If there isn’t one yet in your town, start one up…and leave your book of course! There are also online swaps that you can enter your book into to be exchanged. You never know who might pick up a copy!

Take a snapshot. Social media is all the rage and is a powerful publicity tool. Take a copy of your book with you on your outings and travels and post to your media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Encourage your readers to do the same including the hashtag #YourTitleHere to create a real buzz.
