The Bloody Words Light Mystery Book Award Accepting Submissions

The Bloody Words Mystery Conference, Canada’s largest and longest-running conference bringing together mystery authors and readers, is pleased to announce that our new Canadian literary award: The Bloody Words Light Mystery Award (aka the Bony Blithe) “for books that make us smile” is now open to submissions. This annual award, which includes a $1000 cash prize plus a trophy, is for books published in the previous calendar year.

The winner of the 2012 inaugural Bony Blithe award was Gloria Ferris for Cheat the Hangman (Imajin Books). The finalists were: Janet Bolin, Dire Threads(Berkley Prime Crime), Alan Bradley, A Red Herring without Mustard (Doubleday Canada), Mary Jane Maffini, A Busy Woman’s Guide to Murder (Berkley Prime Crime, and Phyllis Smallman, Champagne for Buzzards (McArthur & Company).

We’d like to invite Infinity Publishing authors to submit books to this new award. Click here for submission guidelines  Books for the 2013 award must have been published in 2012 and may be submitted at any time up to December 14, 2012.

The shortlist will be released at the end of March 2013, with the winners being announced at the Bony Blithe Gala Reception in Toronto in late May or early June 2013.
