MacDonald encourages others to share his passion for this finely crafted spirit, and the pieces that tell its story.

He lives in a 1920s Sears-Roebuck bungalow filled with eclectic pieces from the past. MacDonald has been a feature columnist for several magazines, and makes his living as a guitar maker and designer.

"A real treasure for absinthe devotees. Gorgeous photos, concise, informative comments; a real class act!" -Robin McDermott

"This book was obviously a labor of love for author Scott MacDonald. As a long time fan of absinthe myself I share his enthusiasm. Absinthe has a very interesting and colorful history which this book helps bring to life with it's masterful photography of glasses, spoons, bottles, ect. No other drink has the gizmos and gadgets attached to it like absinthe. I have a neat little collection of absinthe antiques myself, but nothing like the treasures found here. The production qualities are superb with great pictures on top of the line satin finish paper. There's a section towards the end with very artistic still-life photos of antiques in variuos settings. These are so good that they could easily be framed and hung on a wall. This truly is a "must have" item for anyone who is interested in and/or has a love for the Green Fairy!" -Jack Thompson

"If you are an avid Absintheur (or even if you don't even know what that means!) then by all means get this beautifully rendered book. Mr. MacDonald has lovingly put together the finest book detailing the magnificent antiques that are associated with the wondrous era of Absinthe in the 1800's through the early 1900's. The photos are excellent, the details are fascinating and even if you never drank the stuff because it was banned for a hundred years until recently you will relive the the era of the Green Fairy in a most interesting and sometimes amusing way. You will learn more about the wide varieties of objects associated with the preparation, drinking and advertising of this drink than you could ever imagine. Sit down and gaze upon it with awe and drink some Absinthe while reading it to get the full "flavor" of the experience. You will be transported to a wondrous era!" -Neil Moscowitz
