A new author usually has a problem with name recognition. Unless one is well-known, that is the reality of the situation. If you don’t already have such visibility you will need to find a way to get this name recognition. We know that positive name recognition sell books. Articles relying on your expertise can be very effective in marketing your book. One way new authors can increase visibility and credibility in order to improve their book sales is by writing and publishing articles. The articles should be related to the subject of your book, rather than just any subject. You don’t have to wait for months to publish an article the traditional way. It’s now possible to publish online; many online Web sites make this possible. People are more likely to read your articles rather than your book; it takes less time and energy, and is easier on the eyes. But once they read your articles and have their interest channeled in your book’s direction, they will likely give your book consideration. You should have an intended audience for your articles. If your articles tie in with your book, when you reach this audience, you will effectively be promoting your book. There are several ways writing articles can help promote and market your book: (1). Expressing your opinion in a concerned, believable, insightful, expert, and authoritative fashion, makes your book more impressive to potential buyers. If you can get people to trust and believe in you by feeding them a little at a time, they will be more likely to take a bigger bite. Even an elephant is better fed one bite at a time. If potential readers like your articles they will more likely buy your book, after getting this information in an encapsulated form, it will be easier to graduate to the unabridged version. (2). Writing articles will help you to improve your status and credibility with your intended market. Giving them this concise version will serve as an enticement. (3). Publishing articles will give you the opportunity to reach a larger audience, and to attract the interest of a large number of these individuals. As writers we’re always dealing in volume, hoping to attract as many of these individuals as we can. Your objective is to get those who’re only slightly interested to embellish that interest. Be sure the articles you write are free from grammatical or other errors, the last thing you want to do is leave a negative impression. (4). When including the necessary information at the bottom of your articles, the reader can go to your Web site address, learn more about your book, and have the opportunity to purchase it. Giving a short bio along with your articles is great publicity for your book. Be sure your name, email address, and Web site are at the end of your article. This will facilitate people connecting with you. The better they feel about this connection the more likely they are to purchase your book. You might mention the fact that you’re an author of this particular book, giving the price, publisher, and ISBN number. It would also be good to mention how your article relates to your book. Writing articles can be an inexpensive and effective way to promote and market your book.
